Early 19th century powder horn associated with the De Lorimier family of Quebec. Associated with Jean-Baptiste de Lorimier a Lieutenant of the British Indian Department, who fought at the Battle of Beaver Dams and participated in the siege of the US occupied Fort George, 1813. He was wounded in a skirmish outside the fort on August 17, 1813. Captured by the Americans, he was held as a prisoner of war. This treatment provoked an official British protest to the United States.
